  • Board of Education

    The Board of Education is responsible for providing and supervising programs of Christian education for all ages such as Sunday School, youth and adult Bible classes, and Vacation Bible School. They will:

    • Provide the best possible leadership and staffing, materials, and training;

    • Encourage the development and participation in Sunday and weekday Bible studies;

    • Provide a program of youth activity which contributes to the spiritual edification, fellowship, and service involvement of the youth and encourages their fullest participation; and

    • Promote and supervise other educational agencies within the parish which would enlarge the opportunities of the congregation in the field of Christian education.

  • Board of Evangelism

    The Board of Evangelism shall be responsible for establishing and maintaining a congregational plan of outreach. Responsibilities include:

    • encouraging a positive outreach attitude;

    • equipping members for relational witness;

    • community outreach;

    • congregational public relations;

    • visitor follow-up and visitation;

    • promoting friendliness, especially to visitors and prospective members;

    • encouraging outreach emphasis in the various congregational programs;

    • cultivating mission awareness and concern;

    • fostering prayer for both those inside and outside the church; and

    • fellowship activities.

  • Board of Stewardship

    The Board of Stewardship will:

    • help identify, develop and utilize member talents;

    • cooperate with the circuit, district, and synod in appropriate stewardship endeavors;

    • foster support for missions and charities through an ongoing program of mission information and education;

    • encourage the Gospel-motivated practice of joyous, worshipful, generous, proportionate, first-fruits giving in response to received blessings and recognized needs, and annually give every member an opportunity to make a commitment of his/her treasure for kingdom work through the congregation;

    • encourage members to remember the congregation, as well as Synod and its agencies, in their wills;

    • Be concerned together with the Treasurer for the prompt and proper disbursement of congregational funds and the accurate recording of such. Authorization to sign checks shall normally be limited to the Treasurer, President, Vice President, and Stewardship Board chairperson, unless otherwise authorized by the Church Council;

    • Work with the financial secretary for the prompt counting, recording, and safe depositing of all monies received and providing regular contribution statements to all contributors;

    • Annually request and compile all budget requests for submission to the Church Council for review, adjustment, and recommendation to the Voters’ Assembly;

    • Audit the books of the Treasurer annually and report the results of such to the Voters’ Assembly at the earliest possible date after the close of the fiscal year;

    • Evaluate congregational receipts periodically and share these evaluations with the congregation; and

    • Count and record contributions.  Contributions shall normally be counted at church by two or more Stewardship Board members (Financial Secretary and Treasurer excluded). An elected council officer or board member may be substituted for one of the Stewardship Board members, if necessary.

  • Board of Trustees

    The Board of Trustees will:

    • administer all property belonging to the congregation and transact all the business of the congregation assigned to it by the Voters’ Assembly;

    • Sign official documents and contracts that have been negotiated and approved by the Voters’ Assembly;

    • Make an annual inspection of church properties and equipment and recommend to the Voters’ Assembly needed repairs, improvements or replacements;

    • Keep an inventory of all church properties, equipment and supplies, including acquisition date and approximate value of each item;

    • Engage adequate custodial help and meet periodically with custodians to discuss the care of the buildings, needs and problems in custodial service, and the like;

    • Act on requests by individuals and outside groups to use church facilities and set all policies and fees for rental, use, and lending of church properties;

    • Determine and establish, with the approval of the Voter Assembly, regulations governing the use of church property and equipment;

    • Make and issue keys for church property, and keep and review annually a list of keys issued;

    • Annually check the adequacy of all types of insurance for church property and equipment and negotiate insurance contracts;

    • Obtain employee dishonesty insurance to cover all officers and employees who handle church funds;

    • Checks all property quarterly for hazards;

    • Arrange for immediate repairs of an urgent nature and all normal repairs and alterations for which budget funds have been allocated;

    • Maintain an inventory of official documents in safekeeping, and enter it in the official minutes of the congregation;

    • Obtain legal information on the laws governing non-profit organizations; and

    • Submit an annual budget request to the Board of Stewardship in the form and at the time requested by that Board.
